Thousand Trails

So, we have purchased membership to Thousand Trails and for lack of a better definition, I call it a timeshare for RV’rs. Does anyone have any thoughts about this company? I have joined the FB groups and try to stay up to date. So far, I think it looks like a GREAT way to save money while we travel long term. Here’s hoping!?!

July is almost over…

So, July is coming to a close. August is always a busy month for us. My birthday, our anniversary. We nearly always go on a trip in August. Not this year. The furniture will be here soon. The window coverings will be here soon, the floor is NOT quite done. LOTS to do this upcoming month. Will sure be NICE to NOT have the fancy card table as the main furniture. A comfy couch to sit on. WOW.

Short timer syndrome

So, when you know you’re leaving, it can be hard to have the ambition to keep up the good work in your current situation… This is what’s happening to me NOW.

We have sold the house. We have moved into the RV. Currently staying on the in law’s property, which has it’s own challenges, and WAITING to leave on our BIG adventure.

Every challenge makes you want to JUST LEAVE.

Every day, it gets harder to stay. We are SO excited to start on the journey.

Can’t wait for FALL! September will come so fast but for now, it seems SO FAR.

ONE thing that has been SO GREAT so far is that I am very happy with our space in the RV. It is coming together great and not feeling too cramped.

Yearning for the road though, is hard!

Getting prepared

This year, we are preparing to start our full time rv family adventure. In a year or two.

So many things to think about. Having a two year old girl means decisions mean more than they did before.

One thing we know. The time with each other means way more than the things in our lives. It took finally having nice things to realize I don’t need them as badly as I thought before. Funny, the job that gave us the money and opportunities  to travel opened our eyes. We used to focus on having nice things.  Since Aflac, we have found we enjoy our experiences much more than the things money can buy. This career has made me want money less and time to enjoy life more. Sales requires constant work as a career. High highs and low lows. The time I get to spend with my family is priceless.

But time on my he road costs money. So planning is imperative to our family goals.

We have our rig! A 32′ Monaco Knight. Quite an upgrade from our gas engine, 92 Pace Arrow, that gave us our first twinkling of ideas about a full time RV lifestyle.
